Do It Yourself!

The Academichic DIY tutorial for the corsage tee captured my interest.. So, dear people, if you wish to have an awesome shirt like this one, please read these instructions. I was amazed at how easy it was! This might just be my favorite shirt now.

Step 1: Draw hearts on tissue paper, cut them out, and pin them to a piece of random knit fabric you happen to have laying around.. if you don't have one, see if you can find an old unloved tee you can demolish.

They don't have to be perfect...see?

I cut out 14 hearts of varying sizes. Mostly big ones, but some medium-ish ones, too.

Step 2: Pin to shirt in any way that pleases you. Just try to follow the neckline, in order to make people wonder where you bought this beauty of a shirt.

Step 3: Sew those puppies down! You don't want to see the stitching too much, so just sew where the pins are holding the fabric down..from where the pin goes in, to wear it comes out. Approx 1/2 inch long.

Pop it over your head, and wear it proudly. Oh, and I hand tacked some of the petals in place, so they wouldn't flap about.. You don't want them perfectly flat, but you don't want them waving in the wind too much, either.

  2. I LOVE it! I love shirts like this, and yours looks better than a lot of them that I see for sale. I think I'll have to try this. :)
